Mutual Respect and Understanding should be Key when building a Relationship. Be genuine in whatever you do. Don’t buy a product because you expect someone to do you a favor. People get emotional when the other person doesn’t do them the favor they asked. Someone has to see value in what you are offering them. When people realize that there is a mutual benefit to the relationship that’s when the magic happens.
There’s a lady I met in a networking meeting about one year ago. We talked about our businesses and exchanged business cards. For almost one year I called to follow up and even went to networking events she invited me. Three months ago she finally came to our office for our business presentation. It also happened that the same day our Senior Vice President came to our office driving the company’s FREE BMW. She saw the compensation plan and the proof that we were indeed a company to be reckoned with. Now because of her I have additional 20 people on my team. I credit all these to the relationship that I build with her.
Take time and get to know people that you are networking with. Even if they don’t buy from you or join your business they may do so in the future. If people only sense that you are there to only take then they won’t give you their time or money. Approach everyone as if they are the most famous, God gifted person you have ever met.
